Over the past four years, Kathleen has been involved with the Boys and Girls Clubs of South Coast BC’s Race for Kids event. Last Saturday, our team was excited to volunteer at the Capital One Race for Kids™ once again. The event helped raise close to $40,000 benefiting the Boys and Girls Clubs of South Coast BC (BGC).
Their planning team made sure that this year’s race would be even more fun, with crazy Checkpoint Challenges for teams to conquer. The event wrapped up with a BBQ, drinks, and entertainment for the big kids to enjoy.
Our team ran around the race grounds snapping photos of teams, and encouraging the participants to live tweet their experience.
Each participant was so full of determination as they raced through the checkpoints. The “March of the Elephants” checkpoint proved to be one of the most memorable challenges, providing laughs for not only the participants but also the volunteers. It was great to be a part of such an energetic event and I look forward to next year!
