Tell our audience a little about yourself…
Originally from the East Coast, I absolutely love living by the ocean with plenty of places to hike. I started writing when I was eleven, still honing my skills today. Golfer, doxie owner, mother of a chef and a clinical counsellor I enjoy cooking and gardening. My STEM background includes military, research and federal service along with plenty of tech firms. I volunteer on the Board of the Salish Sea Centre and I’m an enthusiastic mentor for students at the University of Victoria Gustavson School of Business.
What do you love about working at Switchboard?
The camaraderie of a great team plus clients who appreciate the special skills PR professionals can use to power their stories up!
What motivates you to work hard?
I love the way people feel when their story becomes real – the satisfaction of getting it right on their behalf. I love being a champion.
What books are you reading right now or what’s your favourite book?
Right now, I’m reading The Infinite Game by Simon Sinek.
Tell us three interesting facts about yourself…
- I became an American Federation of Music booking agent to manage my first husband so he wouldn’t keep getting sent to “chicken wire clubs”
- I was the Yuk Yuks agent for the Atlantic Provinces
- The Canadian Public Relations Society recognized me with a Government Communications National Award
If you could eat one meal for the rest of your life, what would it be and why?
